Estimation Engineer
Phoenician Technical Services is looking for a skilled and experienced Estimation Engineer to join our team in Dubai.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and tender submissions for landscaping projects, ensuring all project costs are calculated in accordance with drawings, specifications, and tender requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Review tender documents, BOQs, drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for softscape, hardscape, irrigation systems, and related landscape infrastructure.
- Calculate quantities and costs for plants, trees, turf, soil, paving, kerbstones, decking, pergolas, and other landscaping materials.
- Estimate costs for irrigation networks, including pipes, fittings, valves, pumps, controllers, and related equipment.
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations for materials, equipment, plants, and services.
- Prepare rate analyses for materials, labor, equipment, transportation, and installation works.
- Calculate direct and indirect costs, overheads, contingencies, and profit margins.
- Prepare and review BOQs, tender pricing sheets, commercial proposals, and cost breakdowns.
- Coordinate with technical, design, procurement, and project teams to clarify requirements and estimation details.
- Conduct site visits, when required, to assess site conditions, access, existing services, and other cost-related factors.
- Identify discrepancies, missing information, and potential risks in tender documents and seek clarification where necessary.
- Compare supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure competitive pricing and compliance with project specifications.
- Ensure tender submissions are accurate, complete, and delivered within specified deadlines.
- Maintain updated records of supplier quotations, material rates, labor costs, and historical project costs.
- Prepare variation quotations, revised estimates, and additional work cost proposals.
- Support budget preparation, cost monitoring, and cost control activities when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering/Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Relevant 2 to 3 years of UAE experience in estimation and tendering for landscaping, irrigation, or construction projects.
- Knowledge of softscape, hardscape, irrigation systems, and landscape construction materials.
- Ability to read and interpret landscape drawings, irrigation layouts, BOQs, and technical specifications.
- Experience in quantity take-offs, rate analysis, cost calculations, and tender preparation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD; familiarity with estimation or quantity take-off software is an advantage.
- Knowledge of supplier quotations, subcontractor pricing, and material procurement procedures.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication, coordination, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet submission deadlines.
